This is the first of my blogs now I have arrived in India , my update on what’s happened so far, which I know is greatly anticipated!
Well was really excited at Manchester airport when told I was being offered an upgraded seat for my trip to Delhi – Nice way to start I thought. Things changed however when I reached Heathrow as a mean BA attendant reassigned my seat saying the plane had changed and it was also full. Rubbish got on plane half full and person in front lower chair so I couldn’t move – classic!
The hostel I am staying in is basic as you can see from pictures, however meets my needs at present and am hopeful when I move to Ranchi . Food is amazing no sickness yet thankfully, although I have brought with me an English head cold. On my first day in Delhi I went and had a look at the markets which look great to purchase anything I need. We also had a gentle stroll around Lodi Park also shown in pictures, a bit of
tranquillity.
In the evening had a great curry and a kingfisher to wash it down, also haggled with auto rickshaw driver for cheap fare and squashed 4 people into it. I got the downside as shared seat with very happy Indian happy to stare intently at my breasts asking me if I was married, while I clung on for dear life so I didn’t fall out. Let’s say I won’t be doing that again.
Spent today at VSO headquarters very laid back planning the week meeting some very nice people and great lunch too. So far this is the life.
